Frequently Asked Questions

Discover the ins and outs of cabin life at Allegany Mountain Resort.

What makes Allegany Mountain Resort a good choice for a cabin stay?
Our cabins mix rustic charm with modern comfort, and they sit inside a full resort rather than on their own. That means a private 70-acre lake, three pools, sport courts, trails and a season of organised activities are all a short walk from the porch.
What should I bring?
Clothing for the season, including swimwear and layers for cool evenings. Kitchens are equipped, so bring food and drink and any speciality items you like to cook with. Beds are made and bathrooms are private, so you are mostly packing for the outdoors.
Are there cabins right on the water?
Yes. Lakefront cabins sit on the shore of Rainbow Lake, and lakeview cabins look out over it from slightly further back. Both are an easy walk to the boathouse, where kayaks, canoes and pedal boats come with your stay.
Do the cabins have full amenities?
Each cabin has a fully equipped kitchen, a private bathroom with a shower, comfortable beds and one or two bedrooms. Many have a screened-in porch, and pet friendly units are available. Outside you get a picnic table, a fire ring and on-site parking.
Is it a good fit for families with kids?
Yes. Cabins come in sizes that suit different family shapes, and the activities calendar runs all season: outdoor movie nights, bingo, the craft cabin, organised games and themed weekends.
How close are the trails and outdoor activities?
Two miles of hiking and biking trails run through the property itself, and Allegany State Park is about a 30 minute drive. Ellicottville is roughly fifteen minutes away for festivals, dining and skiing.
